USTR Indicates that Additional Section 301 Tariffs May Be Imposed on EU Goods

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) issued the following statement on December 2, 2019 indicating that it was “initiating a process to assess increasing tariff rates and subjecting additional EU products to [Section 301] tariffs”. The official USTR press release can be read here

This statement was issued in light of the World Trade Organization’s determination that the EU has still not removed Airbus subsidies.  The USTR also indicated that a Federal Register notice would be issued with more details later this week.
