Reduced number of exams. At tier 1 you will receive 5-8 times fewer exams than non- C-TPAT participants. The trend over the past several years shows a decreasing number of exams on C-TPAT members and increasing amounts of exams on non-C-TPAT organizations. The benefits increase and you go from Tier 1 to Tier 2 and 3, further decreasing exams and receiving priority treatment during exams.
Business Resumption. In the event of an interruption in service, due to a national emergency such as a hurricane or an act of terror, you will receive priority treatment when service resumes.
Priority Exam Treatment. If you are a C-TPAT participant and your container is held for exam along with many others, your container will be examined before non-C-TPAT containers.
